Post by Ben Coyle Racing »

The carbs I have on my bike at the moment are Keihin CVK V664 EE18

Are these the standard carbs? If not please can you tell me what are

Cheers

I would guess the codes vary between years and domestic & import bikes, they should or you want the 32mm version. Some bikes have 30mm and I think all imports do.

Don't think the workshop manual even specifies the carb code just their size.

Hopefully someone will say they have the same code on their bike , unlikely off another bike unless they have been respaced as ZXR750's are the only others that directly bolt in.

If you picked up ZZR600 CVK you could mount them using the parts from your ZXR set and would give you 36mm :smt003

I will have a BEET 441cc motor that just might like that :smt004

Yeah well looking down my inlet ports with the rubbers on, the inlet has a lift of about 4mm above the rubber if you understand what I mean, they dont all equally match up..

I have noticed on mine with either the SP/L inlets or H that they dont marry up flush at points , so one head will get profiled to these

How many owners has the bike had ? Do you know if it was laid up for any length of time ? Maybe the original carbs were so badly gummed up they picked up what they could and made them fit ???

I take it the bike isn't running well or making good power ?

MM!

Its a race bike..Not sure how many owners but i've just done a rebuild on the engine

Before I rebuilt it, it wasn't good no, The power 10kRPM + was great

Mid range was awful though

I've got some new inlet rubbers now so im going to try those, aprantly when I bought the bike it had been standing for a few months

The head has been ported too so im thinking that the guy who had it before, has took some material off the inner side of the manifold, because you can see some of the metal that is under the rubber is exposed

Ill take a photo soon and show you, the bikes getting put back together this weekend and im free all weekend, i've got standard carbs and airbox to try too
