There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

lightweight sprockets for H1?

Post by motoxxx »

Ive been having a look around trying to find some nice lightweight alloy sprockets for my H1.

I see that Renthal do some nice trick ones with big holes but only for the L model.

Does anyone know what brands make ally ones for the 89 H1 model?
i run a 14 front and a 47 rear for our local track

thannks guys

Sunstar make Duraluminum ones , 1/3rd weight of standard and twice as strong - got one on my bike :smt004

I've a box of Kwak kit ones - need to weigh them against the OEM and the AFAM I have - Oh, thats another maker too.

MM!

If your a proper racer you'll want cheap and light...................Talon would cover than

And if you can find H or L model ZXR400 ones listed you be pleased to know that in the normal race size of 520 2004 ZX 600 rear sprockets will fit too.
As most sprocket makers use part numbers to identify sprockets that should give you two or perhaps 3 numbers to cross reference with other Kawasaki models

I've used Renthal, Talon and Afam I'd say Afam was the best of those three but also expensive N never bought Afam they came with the bike

Never heard of Sunstar..........................prob cheap Japanese rubbish oldman :rant :rant winks winks

I'll just douse the fire with some petrol :smt002

H1 , H2 and L hubs all vary in size/dimensions

L sprockets have a smaller internal diameter than H2 and H1

All have a 6 bolt mounting pattern and according to that cheap Sunstar mob there sprockets fit all bikes from 90 to 99 (BTW Sunstar make the OEM discs on nealry all Japanese bikes and have done since the year dot, I also think they make the OEM sprockets too and just recently new Kawasaki show the Sunstar mark on their petal discs like my ZX636 fr. wheel) But 89 have their own code

http://www.sunstar-kc.jp/cgi-local/module/sea.cgi

You can do a 525 conversion using a ZX636 sprocket with a ZRX front.

The code for the 89 rear sprocket is

RH-103

after some searching this also seems to fit ,

[HONDA] NSR250R (MC28)(94-99) 、 NSR250R SE(MC28)(93-99) 、 NSR250R SP(MC28)(93-99) [YAMAHA] TDR250(88) 、 TZR250(86,88-94) 、 RZ250R(84,86-89) 、 SRX400(85-86) 、 XJ400L(教習用)(93) 、 XJ400S/ディバージョン(92) 、 XJR400/S(93-96) 、 XJR400R(00-07,95-99) 、 XJR400RII(96) KAWASAKI / ZEPHYR750 /RS 01-03

1990 to 99 bikes are RK-110

KAWASAKI / ZX-9R 94-97 ZX-10R 06-07

As far as I can remember, the H1 model ones are the same pattern as a lot of GSXR 750s - I can't remember what year though. I've managed to get them from race support trucks so they are definitely ones that are commonly available. I also got one of B&C but had to call them to get the H1 version. Give 'em a call.

Cheers
