Tyre pressure

Hi

Has anyone got info on tyre pressures, someone said to set them hot at 32/29. If you set them hot should you see any change in pressure when you check them after the race...

hey.......here my two penneth for what its worth.

I always do my pressures cold, and on pirelli super corsa's i have 30 front 29 rear. They do rise 2-3 psi when in warmers, and this will rise even more when racing I'm sure (although never checked).

There is no way that your warmers get tyres as hot as racing will so whatever your hot pressures (in warmers) they will rise out on track. It depends what tyre brand you use, and how much you like them to move around. Best ask who you buy your tyres off for a base number (cold) and then go from there......do a test day and play about with em a psi either way.

I would start doing your pressures from cold though if it was me........its the only way to guarantee a start pressure (some warmers get hotter than others, and you can get em hotter by doing a flying lap compared to a sighting lap etc)

lucky 77 is quite correct tyre pressures can only be done accuratly when the tyre are cold or certainly at the ambient temp.

I set mine first thing in the morning at a race meeting and that is it for the day
