any race engines for sale?

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Be very carefull 'Darenor' buying... 'so called' tuned engines by 'wannabe' tuners....particularly when your using them on the Irish roads....which gives them a lot harder time than the short 4-10 lap club races we have over here...'Good spare race engine' sounds inauspicious to me.

I 100% agree with rmkd and Cargo.

With that in mind i only ever buy stuff off people i know, or with the mindset that it will have to be stripped and sorted by people i trust before its used.
But would'nt it be a horrible world if nobody trusted anybodys word. Ive been burnt when buying gear, just because i presumed when buying from a racer they would be the salt of the earth so to speak, i was wrong.
but glad to find there is a few true to there word.

To add. possible off subject
I think it is refreshing that 'other' engine builders are now a viable option.
The mainstay of dynotech, rmkd, seton, are as we know very respected tuners, with winning bikes past and present.
But, there are others that are doing good work too, and have had success in there own right, and possibly offering a new and different angle on things maybee missed by others? who knows. But development is good and so is choice and is something that we should approve of. And good thing for the 'declining class'
I say this because i do feel sometimes its hinted at that if you are not involved with the 'mainstay' you 'may' not have a reliable, fast, legal motor.
not directed at anybody, just my 2p

Jake

whadyamean a "declining class" - hope not cos that would spoil the fun - although on the bright side it must improve my chances of a podium :excited

'A different angle on things maybe missed by others' ....im intrigued by that statement 'Jake'...these engines have been around for over 20years now and all the 'Great' engine tuners have had a go at some stage when 400s had national status...Tony Scott,V+M,Ray Stringer to name a few...and your saying they may have missed something? i think you are way off target with that statement....I wouldnt class myself as 'Mainstay'....im a 'one man band' that is very enthusiastic about zxr400's and will give people as much info as i can and help as cheaply as is viable...as such most of my customers become good friends. There are some good 'other part time' engine tuners that i know well...Richard Bearcroft for one...top man...Andrew Dumbill...ect ect...who have a good grasp on how to make an engine 'fast and reliable'.....But on the other hand ive had engines brought to me...sometimes in desperation that have been...tuned(so to speak) by 'other' tuners and they are 'way' from being right (putting it mildly)...and after two wrecked engines even blamed the rider for abusive riding !!...but on inspection it turns out the 'valve drop' was far too tight...simple solution...just one of many horror stories....But what i was trying to point out was....why would someone have a 'good used race engine' lying around...if it was good it would be in a bike??? and if they have the ultimate confidence in their tuner why have a spare engine :smt017 yes yes i know..... lots of different reasons....the manx always calls for a good spares back up and there are a few genuine reasons for selling 'used race engines'...but in my experience.....Buyer BEWARE!

Easy question to answer.
Put your engine on a pallet and send it to Roger. Include a little note that says make it a fast one
