Re: Headlight bulbs
rob ur right, only 2 pins need to be removed so as long as the top 1 is in and the clip holds it in there isnt a problem at all.
as far as the brughtness is concerned then i think ur right again and the bulbs are just shite, have a look at the link i posted a couple comments up.
i have them fitted and i dont even need to use full beam

Re: Headlight bulbs
Sorry my mistake its not H3 or H7, ive just taken the bulbs out of the bike. They are P43T 12v60/35w, when i bought the pair from a place online (still cant find the receipt!) it was £16 for the pair. WEMOTO do the bulbs for £11.50 each.mongo wrote:They ZXR 400 takes H3 or H7 bulbs i think, cant remember off the top of my head. They were expensive because of the 35w/60w fitment they were supposed to be.
But yeah the H4's will go in fine if you cut the tabs and they are held in place by the metal clip.... The bike can run fine with the uprated wattage of normal H4's anyway so long as you have a decent battery.

Re: Headlight bulbs
the result, no idea in the dark realy, when i get round to riding in the dark ill find out! But initial impression is good! took these photos. Top photo is the cheao 6.99 jobbies, the bottom photo is the Osrams i bought. Candle and lighthouse come to mind, dont you think?
The Osrams have filled the reflector alot more so im confident there will be more light dispersion and ill be able to see roadsigns that i would normally see!

And full beam!
Not a great deal of difference but as with the dipped beam the reflectors seem alot fuller with the Osrams (bottom pic) than the cheap bulbs.

Re: Headlight bulbs
Well, they lasted well, the main beam in these new bulbs has blown already. I reckon they went about 2 weeks ago and thought it was an electrical problem. Finally got round to checking the filaments and its gone :smt013

Re: Headlight bulbs
thats a bt gutting mate, have both gone coz in that case it could be an electric problem throwing them, maybe a fuse has blown and knocked the filament out in the process

Re: Headlight bulbs
Shoulda stuck my spares in while i was at it to see, iirc the same fuse is used for the whole lot, so if it does go the whole lot wont work, but i have dipped beam so im sure its not the fuse, just the bulbs.
