Calling FCR users !!

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

Calling FCR users !!

Post by Mori Man »

get your verniers out !

There seems to be some discrepancies here :smt017

I have a set of standard SP (M3) FCR's with the TPS unit and the by-pass fuel rail (plugged).

With various postings on this forum i was led to believe they would be 32mm THEY ARE NOT !

Just before the cold spell here I removed the battery (now in my kitchen) and the carb's seeing as I wouldn't be working on the bike for a few weeks (now turned into a few months :smt010 )

So, today I measured them up, THEY ARE 33mm

Now, unless Jap' spec bikes come with 33 and Europe bikes with 32 how does this discrepancy come about ? Jap bikes are speed restricted so why waste 33mm on them , something is just not right about all this :smt012

Where you do get two different sizes is the inlet stubs into the head - mine are 40mm externally for FCR rubbers and the other type are 38mm for CVK rubbers (just measured my CVK's).

Internal size of my 33mm FCR are also 33mm on the inlet stub - I do not have the 38mm to measure but would only assume it to be 33mm too.

I did have but now lost the pitch and spacing of the carb's, if you have this info' please list up as I now want to find out if Kehin ever made this carb in a 32mm form and i can also research what other FCR's will be bolt and play in different MM's too :smt003

So, who has 32mm and can you post pics with the measurement being taken?

MM!

As far as I am aware the SP only came with FCR 33mm's. I have a pair of standard SP FCR's and they are 33mm. However all the standard zxr's came with 32mm and i think some export models had 30mm. Sounds like you have a genuine set of SP FCR's. cheers

yep even the non standard FCR's are 33mm for ZXRs, i have a set of full race FCRs ( no choke ass etc )

it took bout an hour and a half on the DYNO - 6 runs later went from 75hp to 79.8hp ( that was cvs with airbox and filter to open FCRs running 50mm trumpets )

It was a huge diff going from cv's to flats - the drive is amazing! but i am running 444cc
