hmmmmm ??

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

hmmmmm ??

Post by xlr8_07 »

Hey guys, had my first test day on the 400 yesterday, and dear god was i impressed, i handed it to nemerious r6's, gsxr, had a good battle with a tl100 who had a tiny bit more speed on the streights but nothing under breaking, :excited any way onto my problem ...

im runnin an l bottom end on a lightley skimed barrels with moderetly ( race manual stuff ) ported head and sp's, stck cv's 115 mains with blocked air correctors and trumpets, total loss and no flywheel or starter or end of crank,

below 8000-9000 it just coughs and shudders until i hit that rpm then its a full blowen assalt on who ever is next to me, not just a normal power band, feels like its hugley rich ? any one else had similar probs? :smt017

I was at Olivers mount today and a few zxr400s were doing just the same. The RMKD bike packed in altogether.

Fantastic day though

ok so today i ran out of gas on the way from work ( just down the road hense using the race bike is easy :P ) and as it was cold i was only paruzing along in 5th at 7-8000 due to being on slicks still, and the coughing surging problem became worse so im starting to think it is lean in the mid range or the cvs are hesitating to open under the denser air from the trumpets, i will tun up a few spacers tomorrow or the next day starting with .5mm up to 1.5mm in thinkness and have a play with packing the needle up, may also look at trying to cut a few coils out of a spare set of cv springs i have ? ?? any one done this?
