Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
well if i cant get a decent 2nd hand nose cone its going to set me back about £450 notes for a new one, which is stupid for a plastic fkin nose cone. still.
yea ill take some pics on sat and show the world lol, ill try to fix it back up too i think. can you polish out minor scratches on the generator cover?

Possibly but it'll probably never look 'right'. You can get those carbon covers, though...
How bad is the damage to the fairing? Apparently professional plastic welders can work miracles so they might be worth a go.
Or there's the patented Jamz method of plastic ties and a soldering iron, finished in duct tape!

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
well said jamz, if the panel isnt cracked then you'll be able to get it repaired to perfect conditon. Deepends on if a good one comes up on ebay of course.
as for the cover you'll have to sand it and re paint it in the scratches are deep.

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
to be honest the nose cone has just snapped off near the top, clean snap near the top, i didnt notice any other damage to it so a repair would be cool if i could get that done, not sure how bad the scratches on the cover are but i dont think its terrible as my foot was in the way lol, me left boots seen better days thoe lol.

If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
sounds about right for offical spares, get some pics up and take the fairing down to repair person. A friend got his dont for £160 and looked spot on. I think he paid over the odds as well...

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
Get some good plastic glue and see how it goes using that.
I have used some plastic glue in the past on bike fairings and they work really well.
The good ones are a 2 part action , you brush on a primer first to clean the parts to be glued and then put the glue on and hold together.
I'm sure its some sort of superglue like Loctite.

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
cheers rene ill add that to my personal comp tonight and check it out.
hmm the thing is im a little reluctant about doing it myself, its an 07 bike so im thinking nothing short of perfection will do, i half thought of selling it the other day.
i think ill go the way of a pro company if they can make it look like it never happened ill do it, if not ill maybe have to buy a new 1 which is gutting but should insure i wont make the same stupid mistake again.

Re: IT HAD TO HAPPEN
Look up the dealer "saveyourbuy" from Hong kong. Panels are made from plastic and have all fixing holes, lugs, etc. Not just fibre glass after market fairings. As for falling off... I found my rinding improved when I crashed and stopped worrying about how pretty my bike looked. After you've dropped it don't bother making it look new again. Just ride it.
Honda prices? I have a ZX10R '06 and a CBR600RR 04 and replacement parts are about the same. Buy your parts from Fowlers in Bristol as they have a huge warehouse stocking all manufacturers parts and will ship same day.
