Does it hang like the revs do on my 400 Baz? I've heard rumours that fecked up valves can cause the engine to hang like this. I've had my bike dyno'd twice and the fueling is spot on, yet the revs still hang, I'm guessing its the same problem as yours.

i did wonder if it was something to do with the valves mate, i'm gonna do the clearances and cam chain on the old engine and put that back in.

Bugger! Sorry Baz I haven't looked at this thread at all until now!
My first guess would be a broken wire in the loom. It's an old one, so something could have easily gone brittle and snapped when you disturbed it.
That's the cheapest thing to look at anyway - otherwise my next guess would be having a very close look at cams and shims and all the nasty stuff...

swapped the rubbers yesterday and its a lot better, it still hangs but it didn't stop me going out on it for a couple hours and wringing the tits off it.
gonna have another look at the carbs tonight.

never got round to solving this problem but after reading through some threads believe it could have been something as simple as the mixture screws.
