Transponder

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

be carefull about getting old ones, ive noticed quite alot of knackered ones about cos they havent been charged for ages...that may be the problem with ebay.
Motoforum is quite good if your quick cos they sell fast. Your lookin at 160 to 190 second hand usually. I think they are 'bout 220 new? so no great saving second hand

Get busy with google and you will find lots of places selling them...............home website is called mylaps I think.

Transponders are not cheap...................and with the rechargable ones the battery dies after a few years...................one of mine has died during this winter.

However it is possible to have it refurbished with a new battery and if you are carful it can be a DIY job as well
Once you open the red case the whole thing inside is encased in a resin....................grind it away carfully untill you find the battery and remove it..replace it with a new battery and way you go i'm sure I've read a how to do thread somewhere.

Found it but the pictures have been removed

Thanks for that cargo, didn't realise they didn't last that long tho? :-s Think I might just rent one at race meetings then cos that's alot of money for a short time! Do most people just hire them at race meetings then? Cheers!

They have put there prices up to well over 300 quid now. AMB are robbing bastardss. Not only this, but they have now got onto the high resale price second hand, and now charge to re-register them. They know we cant race without them.... :smt012

Lachie
You can get a hard wired one that will last forever, or until you lose it in the gravel!! If you are doing Melville meetings at East Fortune and are a novice then hire is free for your first season.

Unfortunately you need to pay to hire at KDMC. Think it is only £10 per meeting though.

That's not too bad either tbh, how much is a wired one, guess they cost more than the rechargeable ones? Might just get a wired one if it's for life!

Thanks for that Jake! Yeh think I might just hire one for the first year then & see what happens. How come your selling your bike, you changing class or going to get another ZXR?

Does anyone know if you get laptimes at the practice days in March at Knockhill & East Fortune?
