200 kgs of nails...
Time for another build thread methinks.
1993 zxr 750 L1.
picked this up last sunday in exchange for my celica, i was looking for a bigger bike and wanted rid of the celica which was struggling to sell so when someone offered through ebay to exchange i thought why not. (yeah i also thought why do they want to swap?) anyways, its got 12 months MOT, new chain and sprockets and looks like a full stainless micron system. (either that or its a brand new oem but i thought they were bolt on jobbies?) new front tyre, done 51k miles ooooeerrr!!! and from first looks not too bad, ok i didn't like the paint scheme too much but something to work on.
First impressions... sh*t its fast!!, feels very light and rides well!
had a look around yesterday, its got LED indicators on the back that work, and mini indicators on the front of which 1 don't work, twat has drilled holes in the fairing to fit them instead of using the blanking plates, not to worry i'm gonna ditch em for original indicators anyway.RHS fairing is damaged and will need replacing, engine sounds like a bag of nails, apart from that it seems ok.
First time i've used it today since getting it back, starts up fine, ticks over fine and revs fine, drops it into first and it starts to pull with the clutch in, mmmmmmm there is no fluid in the reservoir, job for lunchtime.
My plans are to respray the whole bike in black with green wheels. we'll see..........

not really done anything to this bike apart from riding it
i did swap the end cans over last week from my gixer and the change is amazing, pulls a lot quicker and sounds gorgeous now.
have a lot of plans whirring round my head at the mo, we shall see what happens.

If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

i've been debating since i picked it up about getting rid of the colour scheme, don't think it will be staying.

If i had the money i'd get a black/green respray and get it stickered up with the GP sticker set but i just dont have the money to have he resprayed.

Sounds interesting
I need to learn to spray bikes myself :p
Be better than forking out hundreds to get it done.

Re: 200 kgs of nails...
here's a few ideas. i was going all black with chrome wheels and chrome flame decal kit but the cost of chroming wheels is ridiculous.

Re: 200 kgs of nails...
Well im thinking of getting my wheels part polished part metallic purple to go with the colour.
Get em polished then mate, looks the same as chrome but a hell of alot cheaper.

Re: 200 kgs of nails...
voted for black with gold wheels + numberboard.. but really, for traditions sake they should be pink.
kwak green wheels though ..

saves all that faffing about painting them.. just buy some the right colour innit
