Oil Cooler
I noticed that the RMKD bike didn't have an oil cooler, was it moved or eliminated? Anyone else dropped the oil cooler from the ZXR400?

Re: Oil Cooler
mine runs with no oil cooler, i made up some blanking plates from 3mm 6082 ally and sealed the inlet/outlet on the sump.. works fine .. sprint races are only 5 or 6 laps, and the oil is changed every meeting.
still runs cool enough that i have to tape up the (H2) rad to keep it warm.
incidentally, the ZX-4 which uses the same engine has a tiny (H1 style) radiator, a shallower sump and no oil cooler.. and ive put over 60,000 road miles on one of them with no ill effects.. although the fan comes on more than on a zxr.

Re: Oil Cooler
that sounds like another great weight saving idea - I have just finished refurbing the oil cooler but while I was doing it did seem a bit pointless - anyway - is it as simple as just blanking the inlet and outlet on the sump?
