Kit ignition rotor

There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

All sorted :excited Blocking the air correctors did the trick. The only issue now is that it is reaching peak power at 13,100 revs and I thought this might be a bit higher than it is.

Any thoughts?

It is still reving through until it hits the limiter though, its just that the power tails off after 13.1k. Have you had yours dynoed recently? Just not sure as to when most ZXR's hit peak power.

last time mine was dynoed was when it was fairly stock (so i suppose it makes a half decent baseline)

H1 cams
H1 airbox (snorkel removed)
H1 cdi
#105 main jets
#H1 needles
no base gasket
Beet Ti exhaust

it made 65.89bhp @ about 13k and then levelled off.. I was told it was probably worn cams, but figured it felt like ignition.. so ..

sp cams, dynojet needles and ignitech ignition were added and it makes strong power through to 15k before tailing off, although it's not been on a dyno like that yet.

Mine looks a bit like the middle one and reaching just over 71 BHP so not too bad. Just concerned by this power tail off, but will see what like once back on the track.

hi fatspanner,
i had exactly the same problem as you are descibing. standard bike, coughs and splutters from 8000 rpm upwards every gear. changed jets, changed plugs, slotted pick up, still the same. a real headjammer.
solution: how old is your fuel? it will go off ater about 4 weeks. drain your float bowls and fill with fresh fuel, then run it. yiou will notice a difference. mine pulled straight to the red line no problem.
just a thoght hope this helps.
