There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

cargo..(mgp advice needed)

Post by jake »

Speaking of engines in t'other thread has got me thinking of the stuff i need for 010 mgp.
How many engines to you take, 2 or more?
i presume i need to have a full charging system on the bike? what else apart from the usuals need lockwiring, and tyres? would a full wet last? or would you go for a kr364( if can get em), or just the supercorsa's?
in the paddock, is there lots of hookups for a caravan?
And how many people do i need for refueling, and do i need a refueling rig?
I know its a while off, but i will probs have to start geting some bits together and engines built.
thanks
jake

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........................EASY ask me something hard.

I always take at least a spare engine.......................a complete spare bike is very useful as well.

You can run total loss no problem..........your battery if in good condition and fully charged will last 4 lap easy.

All your exhaust springs need to be lockwired................. plus wheel spindles and all the normal ones.

No need for full wets................if it is wet enough for full wets then the race will not be started because the medicial helicopter could not fly. I run Supercorsas..............you must use a threaded tyre and no cut slicks.

You will be able to get your tyres in the paddock but it could be cheaper to bring your own

lots of power hook ups all free no extra charge........also showers and washing machines are free lots of dish washing facilities as well.....................hard standing for caravans or grass for tents...............................you need to get a letter of permision to bring a caravan....................no big deal easy to get.

You are allowed 3 people in your pit for the race it is possible to do it with one.......................if you go and need help I will be there.

You must use the refueling rigs provided ...............no cost...................... free.

Go on ask me something about the Manx that I can't answer................................ :smt003 :smt003

Don't forget you should make the effort to visit the IOM with an experienced competitor who can show you round it really does make a difference.........just ask :smt002

Merry Xmas everyone

thanks for that cargo.

Ive been lookin at a few 600's aswell. I will probs get a cheap one to get a bit more track time.
Do most racers just take a van and a tent then? i havent got a clue how much a van and caravan will be on the boat, about 700 quid im guessing...
thanks and a merry xmas to you and all!
