The fairings arent secured fully, only the top and bottom engine brackets are nipped up. What do you mean they are dropped through as far as they go?

I gave the guy the bike for the day. He builds and checks frames and he told me my forks were fine, frame is bent.

Oh i see, so the whole lot was checked. Chances of another frame being bent the same way has gotta be pretty slim hasnt it.

My forks are dropped through as far as they will go. the fork legs are fatter mid way down for the clamps to clamp on to. If i go past the fat bit they wont clamp up tightly, so will only drop through so far before i can tighten them up. Hence, dropped as far as they will go :smt001

120/70 tyre. Pirelli supercorsa pro. What should my next move be? Drop the forks through abit more? Buy a bottom yoke? I'll measure the spindle to mount now. Which mount did you use rob?

I used the swingarm pivot mate. Did you have a 120/60/17 when you had the accident?

but its not to say that the bend in the original frame was causing the wheel to sit closer to fairing though

maybe im looking at it wrong, but if the tyre has a 10mm larger profile then surely it makes the circumference of the wheel/tyre 10mm larger :smt017

which to me means it would appear 10mm closer to fairing

When I crashed I had a 120/70/17 on the bike AKA pirelli supercorsa pro which has stayed on the bike all the way through the rebuild. The frame was bent and the front wheel appear'd to be close to the fairing as you can see in the picture. I then stripped the bike replaced the frame and the wheel is exactley the same. Yeah, there is a 10 mil difference from a 120/60 - 120/70. I guess what I need is a picture of another bike with a 120/70 on the front.

Ok, just did a rough measurement with a tape rule from the front wheel to the swingarm pivot bolt and it appears to be around 85 cm. I'll do another one when another pair of hands arrive home.

the tyre is 12mm difference, the 120/60 is 60% of the 120 the 120/70 is 70% of the 120 so 12mm difference.
