Bloody hell surely not still too close? Have you considered the fairing brackets might have all shifted forward in the accident?
Have you measured the wheelbase up scott?

Re: I'm Down.
Hi Scott,
Not the bearings but the actual clamps - it can be hard to see if they are out especially if the stem has bent at the very bottom, the clamp itself could have twisted back too.
The only sure way to tell is placing them on Plate glass and using an engineers right angle and taking measurements. A 1 degree offset along the length of your forks will yield something like a 5mm shift. 1-4 degrees is near on impossible to see by eye.
Any one local you can bolt there front end on to your machine? has to be the quickest way of eliminating your triple trees.
Again, if i can help out I will.
MM!

Re: I'm Down.
How do I measure wheel base? From wheel to wheel or spindle to spindle?

Re: I'm Down.
Id say spindle to spindle but since the rear wheel wont be the same on all bikes to account for the chain, its probably best to do it from an engine mount. to the front spindle.

Re: I'm Down.

Re: I'm Down.
You cant, thats why i suggested measuring from and engine mount, which i have just done!
Cos the fairing is in the way i put a long drill bit inside the front spindle and one inside the swingarm spindle, that way the centre is more or less projected out and was able to measure the distance between the two without the faring in my way.
Ive got 86cm, on mine, so anything quite a bit less than that then you know its the frame/forks.

Re: I'm Down.
I highly doubt it is the frame as the bike/ wheel is exactly the same way. What would the chances of the frame being bent in the exact same way be?

Abit yeah..
3 mile AKA the silver bit on the top of the fork before it goes gold, thats what is poking out.

Re: I'm Down.
Mine are dropped through as far as they go and no wher as near as that.
It must be the forks scott, im guessing you got them checked? Did you hand them over with the yokes aswell?
Gotta be the fairing otherwise, looks a bit of an odd fit round the genny cover, or could be the photo....
