Shocking time

Post by Mori Man »

The OEM shock on the bike has a burst oil seal - which is a good thing as it's kept the damper rod in good condition :smt001

So this afternoon decided it's time to send it off and get it overhauled :smt023

Armed with my 17&19mm spanners and sockets I got in about the mounting bolts and lost :smt010 Seized freakin solid , I was pulling on the end of the socket "T" bar arm so much I was waiting for a hernia to pop through the walls of my gut shocking Then came the knuckle bashing from trying to haul on it and strike it at the same time with a hard rubber mallet :smt009 Eventually gave up when jelly arm mode set in and purple spots were appearing before my eyes oldman

So off to shop and got myself some penetrating oil and a strong arm / break bar - gonna get them feckers the 'morrow :smt019
(Time I got home it was pissin down banghead )

Got the headlight unit off so going to see what can be done there :smt115

Oh, we did have some sunshine this morning so i scooted up to the Kwak dealer to order some parts and they've just got a all green l in :smt004 The one with the carbon look decals , anyway was admiring the BEET Ti / Carbon system when noticed it was also fitted with an Ohlins rear shock :smt007 sod's wouldn't accept a swap for my soon to be refurbished OEM one :smt012 Gotta try !!

Very clean condition and wondering what price tag they are going to put on it - also there's a cheap M1 on the go but got no space , but not for long ! :smt003
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

I have a 4ft square steel bar that's perfect for things like this, just slot it over the ratchet. hasn't failed me yet!
