Re: Ive just done the stupidest thing in my entire life.
Argh I couldn't believe it. 5 seconds of idiocy could have potential ruined the next 5 years of my life. Never ever been in trouble with the police before and now this. I feel terrible, still cannot believe I was such a twat. Waiting for it to come through the post is the worst bit.
The copper didn't say much at all, he ran some checks on me and the bike, read me my rights, didn't give me any kind of paperwork and said you'll get something in the post.

get in touch with the forces mate, might not be as big an issue as you think, and at least knowing that you can plan for something else and you will know the worst case scenario.

you will just get a court summons then. and definitely get in touch with the marines as rob says see what the situation is no point worrying yourself when there may be no need.

Re: Ive just done the stupidest thing in my entire life.
I just phoned the careers office.
They said If I recieve a fixed fine then they need proof that I have paid it. If I go to court, they need proof that the case is closed, I have paid any fines and then they send off a waver for confirmation. I think i'll definatley be going to court so im looking at my application being on hold for a while I think.

could you not do what Gem says and say you were having lessons? then get done for not having L plates?

least it wont be 5 years by the sounds of it tho, eh? sounds like that if they have proof of closure youll be alright, so the only thing holding you up will be the time it takes for the case to be closed.
thats not so bad.

all comes under "driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence" = LC20
careers office is good news.. you may yet get a fixed penalty if you gave your story to the copper at the roadside, costs too much to take people to court these days.
head over to the pbmagforum.co.uk and ask porkscratchin in the law section .. its his job and you should get some more accurate advice there as to what course the law will take.

What I can't understand is he didn't tell me his name, didn't tell me where he was from, didn't tell me why he'd 'puleld me over', didn't give me any paper work, nothing.
