Hi Chaps,
Need HELP with my zxr 400 L1...Bike was over charging the battery witch led to the bike not starting unless I jump started it. It then ran fine on a run, when I tried to start it again I needed to jump start it again. Seems as if the battery goes flat after about 2 mins. I have replace the rec/reg there is now no charge going into the battery at all... the head lights dont come on at all now either. Any ideas?

sounds like the stator coil is faulty, you can check the 3 wires coming from it with a multimeter,look in the manual for details, think you are looking for 43v across the wires.

I have tried that & sometimes I am getting a reading of between 42-45 volts other times I get nothing? Any more ideas?
I bought a new battery 6 weeks ago & it is now compleately knackered. Someone has spured a lead off the alternater to the fuse box..for some reason... Please help..
