Van Hire Companies
I need to get the bike in have its frame and forks checked. Im not going to risk riding it. The fairings need to be stripped anyway so I couldn't. I've decided to hire a van for the day, has anyone had any experience with this? Good but cheap companies...

shop around, some dont take a deposit off your card, they just make you sign a form, also, with some it has to be the DRIVER's card thats used for payment.
practical van hire are pretty good, but i've used national, hertz, europcar, gwalia .. loads in the past..
these days i just borrow one off my landlord who conveniently owns a van garage
plank of wood is fine for getting the bike in and out, if its bendy, bung some bricks under it halfway. But tbh, if there's 2 of you and the plastics are off its easy enough to lift it in and out.
oh, when booking ask if the vans got tie down points, some hire company's board over them.
