Air ducts

Post by gt185 »

Has anyone had any issues with air ducts on their zxr's?
One of the hoses on my H2 is perished just above the tank, and I've
been told that it can affect the running of the bike as the air on one
side is being drawn in via a shorter route, because of the perished state.
Bike seems to be fine, and unaffected by this 'extra air', but just wanted
to see what you guys thought.
If it is, anyone got a decent set they'll sell me?

Cheers

wouldn't have thought it would have any effect whatsoever mate, all they do is redirect cooler air to the head and combustion area.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

They are entirely cosmetic and should make no difference whatsoever to the way the bike runs IMHO

That's what I was kind of thinking, as they don't connect directly into the
air box, so how would the carbs know how far the air had travelled.
The guy that said this sees himself as a bit of an expert, but I figured
you guys would know better. Like I said, the bike's running sweet, so
it doesn't appear to be affected at all by the holey hose.
