Re: Mallory Park Track
did my first track day there .. cant give you a corner by corner, apex by apex guide to the fastest line possible ..
but can tell you its a laugh .. there's an incredible amount of grip even if its raining, gerards goes on for so long you get cramp holding it banked over, the esses are flat out on a 400 and the rest of the course just kind of falls into place .. I really enjoyed the hairpin and the bus stop, and devils elbow (?) the left hander is a scary place to end up going sideways.. (missed a gear change)
depends wether you will be using the extra chicanes n stuff really ..
think i did about a 1:10 - 1:12 in the wet .. (not using the gerards chicane thing) no idea how quick that is, but it was as fast as i felt like going on the day.
once in, you're kinda stuck there too as getting back out involves crossing the track.
its a nice little circuit, and pretty easy to learn your way round by the second session.

Re: Mallory Park Track
Cool thanks been watching a few vids and I've heard it is easy to learn.
I think on the track day it might have the chicane after gerrads not really to sure but i'll ask and find out.
At Devil's elbow are you likely to drift wide (almost like the first corner at Cadwell)???

not really, you're coming out of the bus stop and accelerating rather than slowing from flat out, so its pretty much a case of choosing whatever line you want depending on where the traffic is, i made a surprising number of passes here as bigger bikes were worried about the cold left hand side of their tyres, and i was just nailing it. I think if you go in wide the camber is kinder, but i could be wrong, it was my only time there, wet, and a while ago now.

Clever shouldn't take me too long then to get used of the track. Might go out with an instructor and see if they can take me around the track to see the right lines.
