Bah cant believe you trashed that levely exhaust someone sold you but in all seriousness glad to hear you're ok, dont like the look of how close your wheel is to the bottom of your front fairings.

glad your ok, i'm just stuck wondering why you were using the rear brake though? and why didnt you just take your foot off it as soon as the back wheel squirmed? i'm sure you probably asked yourself these questions while you were watching the curb creep closer but i'm genuinely interested in what you may or may not have done to avoid losing control when you first felt it go.

Just too fast for the corner mate. I had time to think whilst the curb was coming in, that was the worst bit, I was trying to get it round with the rear locked, must of looked like i was trying to back in a supermoto, it was having none of it. I then just fixated on the curb and the drop the other side, in hindsight I think I could of got the bike round the corner, but I was either going to lowside or do what i did. Oh well, i'll put this one down to in-experience, don't push it on roads you dont know.

did you get the headstock sorted mate cos the crash could have smashed the headstock bearings if they were shot anyway and hence why the wheel is soo close to the fairing??

Dont know mate, had a look at it today and something aint right. Gonna have to strip it down in the garage like.

best bet is just totally strip the frontend and check each component over, even if the forks themselves are straight the yokes can bend, and zxr frames themselves bend quite easy. Could just be that the fairing is all on the piss, and everything else is straight ?

You can ask all these questions, but you can't always make yourself do them. I ran into the back of someone in the van when I was about 18 - must have locked up the front wheels for a good 20m. Even at the time, my head was saying "you muppet, lift off the brakes, put it up the verge and you'll just about squeeze past", but my right foot wasn't listening.

Similarly Scott can (and no doubt has), asked himself why he didn't just tip it in further and hope for the best rather than target fixating on the kerb. Learning process isn't it? I ran into a corner a bit quick on friday whilst out with some (fast) mates and was quite happy to find that my reaction was to instinctively tip it in harder rather than standing it up and grabbing the brakes. Hopefully I'll always be able to persuade myself to do that.

In my case I think the little bit of track riding I've done has helped - it's given me a huge amount of confidence that the tyres will hold until everything is scraping.
