Immobiliser

Call me stupid but - have tried various approaches to removing the immobiliser from my L3 - this is part of my stripping the bike to convert to track. However, this isnt so easy as just disconnecting all the various imputs - any experience on this? I am clearly missing something as when disconnected bike turns over but - of course!!! - wont fire. I have managed to disconnect the alarm but the immobiliser has me completely Buggered.

On another question - specifically to Ballsout Racing - the pic of your bike shows a race fairing and double bubble which looks exactly as I need - my fairing is a bit wider across the bottom of the screen cutout (as is yours by the look of it) and the off the shelf Airblades etc dont fit great - where did you get your screen?

I took the alarm/immobiliser off my 7R last year. I found it was simply a case of disconnecting one coloured wire at a time and
re-connecting the coloured wire to wherever its was disconnected by finding the same coloured wire. took me a few hours and the use of a soldering iron and insulation tape but i got there.

To be honest, I can't remember where I got it from, however, it was most likely to be from Alan Russel at one of the circuits as that's where I smash screens up and would be buying a replacement. But, my fairing isn't wider at the bottom, it's just that the lower edge of the screen arear is higher up(ie a taller arear from nose to bottom of screen), which I suppose could make it look wider. The screen is just an ordinary DB screen that should fit any ZXR fairing(and nay even be an airblade). Alan Russel of AR Racing can be found here: http://www.arracing.co.uk/

Thanks for that - my fairing is the same ie finishes higher up so looks "wider" I will try Alan for the screen.

As for the immobiliser - success this evening. Anyone want an immobilier (free to a good home- assuming I can get postage covered - a couple of quid should do it) - however- this isnt coming with instructions so whoever is interested needs to know a bit about what they are doing. I have marked up where the various wires came from. ?

One final thing - as I am prepping this bike for the track am I right in assuming that there is no need for the rear subframe extension? The single seat bolts onto the front subframe and the rear looks a bit redundant as there are no lights or pillion etc - or am I missing something?
