My friend had a GT4 ST182 and it was a wicked car. It nearly crippled him financially though - they have a LOT of electrics under the bonnet. Very clever car and ahead of their time. I love the old pop up lights too.

I almost bought an mkI MR2 (1.6 "hairdresser" version). Wicked little car being rear wheel drive and fairly eco. I'm not interested in fast cars on the road - barely get a chance to use them in all this traffic. Sadly, this means if your main transport is a bike, a 2 seater coupe isn't really practical.

If only the girlfriend would learn to drive, I could be over indulgent, selfish, and get a coupe... :smt003

definitely ahead of their time and well built

done some work on it today as i want to put it back on the road as it deserves....... back box which was blowing turned out to fall apart along with the centre section, what should have been a pinhole turned into 3 pieces of a 2 piece exhaust, well rotten, oh well only £180 for a new one. :smt010

ditto, I've considered it before - I definitely gravitate towards lighweight sports cars rather than stupid-powerful ones. But for us it would mean running two cars, which at the minute is a bit of a waste of money.

Thought about going for a battered ass old HiLux for a week or so, before buying the 820, actually. Was looking at a nice dented, scratched, paint faded, dinged, raped 2.4 TD one for about £400. Would have been fun, and useful. Couldn't have insured the bugger though.

Toyota of choice = Aristo V300 twin Turbo :smt007 (AKA: Lexus GS300, I think)

Do the oil and filter every schedule and the motor will go for ever.

Bonus. Both my Rovers have done that, now ain't that a peculiarity, considering how unreliable, rusty and awful they supposedly are?
Narry a hiccup for the 214's last MOT...
