Bike cutting out when moving off

Post by zxr_lover »

Hi folks,

As the title says.... The bike starts fine, but when i stick it into first gear and try to move off the revs just drop and but for me pulling the clutch in again (very quick) the bike would just cut out. Am thinking that its mayby something to do with the side stand or something.

Also don't know if it has anything to do with it, when i come to park the bike stick it in neutral and let the clutch out it also dies. almost like its in gear too.

IS there a connection or something that i can check for the sidestand mayby its come loose or something. The bike is an h1 or 2 model i think. not sure which.

Any ideas or quick cures would be appreciated folks as i'm off to thailand tonight and i don't want to be worrying about my baby whilst am gone lol.. thanks again.....

Mine used to do that intermittently, ended up just disconecting hte side stand switch all together and wiring the wires together.
If you look at the stand, there will be a little black box type connected to it with wires running from it, trace the wires to find the connector.

yup its definatley the side stand, i used a little extra force to put it up and away it went. i'll mayby get the side fairing off and give it a little and clean around the side stand and wires etc and see what happens.
