So I think "OK then, I'll just do them in 2K base and laquer, and in that case I ought to to prep and prime all the other bits of the bike so the paint isn't wasted in the gun and I can mix a large batch and be assured of no colour match problem batch to batch."
Toddle off to have the paint I want matched from the fairing. With the intention of putting a decent amout of cash across the paintshops counter i.e. we're talking high build etching primer for the wheels, plastic primer - enough for a bike, enough base green for the wheels and bike, 0.5L black base coat, 0.5L white base, enough laquer for the whole lot and thinners, sanding mediums and some finishing compounds.
She matches the paint (but doesn't make it up yet), and then wont sell me the laquer because I wont be using an air fed mask to spray on the laquer. BUT I can have the 1k laquer which isn't very good for outside applications - but not as fumey. Well yer I'm going to use interior laquer like all over my wheels and fairings
I mean to say did you ever hear it, I can wander to asda and buy 20 LnB and inhale but nooooooooooooooo I cant spray laquer in my own privacy (not as if I'm subjecting others to it). So I'm very pissed off at this, I'm now going to have to try somewhere else or more likely pay a friend to do it (which is nice because I give him business) but I wanted that personal touch really.
