Well, as promised, I took my bike to Swartkops race track on Sunday for a trackday to test if having the holes sealed would make any difference to the performance, or the running temperature of the bike.

It didn't seem to make any visible difference. I was riding in the C group and managed to overtake between 6 & 8 riders in each 20 minute session. :smt001 In my last session, only one person overtook me.

I was the only person in my group with a 400. All the other guys were on 600's or 1000's.

Now, there are not many things that feel better than overtaking someone on a new CBR / GSXR 1000 :smt003

I now need to decide how I will seal the holes in such a way that you cannot see them :smt017

i think they are cool. they are handy too cos when i'm riding slow through towns i sit up and take my left hand off the handlebars and put it flat on the tank round the base of the pipe. it gives me a bit of support for sitting up.
