Pillion grab handles
Just had my L9 delivered yesterday (very tasty) but no pillion grab handles does anyone know of any sites that would sell them, ebay is looking a but sparse at the moment.

Re: Pillion grab handles
the L9 had a different grab handle, it was more like a spoiler

That one on eBay says fits l1 to l8 do the l9s have different fittings? Also would the strap on the front of the pillion seat be suitable for a passenger to hold onto or would it not be strong enough?

Gemini did a good write up here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14582#p107077
the strap is bad for holding onto, gives you no support in corners, its in a strange position meaning you are crouched, and it will pinch your fingers.

Re: Pillion grab handles
i remember when i was 14/15 and used to go pillion.
on my mate's fireblade was a leather strap which was murder getting your fingers under to get a grip, it stretched under acceleration and was pants under braking.
on my other mates gixxer 1100 it had grab rail behind, good under braking and through corners, but at speed if the wind got under your butt it felt like you'd pivot backwards butt over tit, so i learnt to grip with my feet/calves.
i always though a metal grab rail in front of pillion was the best bet - but dont think they have ever existed.
and yes the L9 had the spoiler shaped rail
