Hmm, theres them, and theres SHOCKING them! I dont think you would get much of a belt through that anyway, yeah it would hurt alot but im not sure it wouldnt kill you, resistance of air is far too high to carry enough current to kill you i would have thought, unless you went and touched the top of it.

i can bring them to the brink of death, i have no problem with that! killing them cost's tomuch now a days

nikola tesla was an absolute legend, in a completely bonkers mad scientist kinda way.

But lightening is on a much much higher scale, about 300kv across the same permeability of air, so current will be higher. Also the point of contact is usually through the head, neck or shoulders, usually causing a heart attack. Dont get me wrong, if you got struck by a tesla coil, it would hurt like a bitch

Nikola Tesla was a great scientist indeed! Completely unrecognised for his work with monkeys like Thomas Eddison discrediting him because he didnt like his ideas. Theres some vids on you tube about him actually and some of the stuff he came up with

two minutes + google = at least a couple of pages about tesla coils in the 500kV range!

Dont think i would stand near one either actually. Since they use a step up transformer i do believe theres only so much current you can draw.

Just looking at some theory on this, the power (VA) across each coil in an ideal transformer is the same, so if you stepped the voltage on the second coil up from the first, you would have a proportional decrease in current on the second to mantain equal power on each coil, so you might be ok?
