How much did it cost you?

I didnt pay for the paint job,

I brought the bike like that off my friend, Who fixed it up after it had been down the road.

So it was like that when i brought it.

I'll try and find out how much it would cost to get it sprayed when i next see him.

You looking to get you bike sprayed then ? as ive noticed in your pic you have a white fairing.

Mines all mix n match! lol

nose cone and the tank are the only original panels, and even then i dont think they were the colour of the priginal bike as its a 1993 bike but im sure they didnt bring that scheme out till 1995, seat unit from a completly colour scheme and the side panels i bought because the old ones were knackered.

So yes im wanting to get mine sprayed up, but gotta find a job first to get the money!

I'm just going to do my own ..

Won't be cheap as I'll be buying a compressor and gravity feed gun and painting supplies, doing my own prep etc.

But thats half the fun ..

£200 for the lot, which is less than a middling bodyshop would charge for a YTS yuff to do the work and you get the kit in place for touch ups or the next bike you get ..

Wolf are doing a £99 special offer for a compressor and gravity gun delivered for £110.

Ordering mine tomorrow ..

^ about 2/3 of the way down the page

After that probably just 2k one coat tbh. Cheap as chips and holds up well enough to a season's riding.

Yeah but you dont want to be doing a paint job every year :S

well would be cool to see how you get on,

Take some photos of your progress.

I helped spray my friends car and that was such a faff, It was far too big to spray in his tiny compound garage.

A bike would be pretty easy to spray to be honest as all the panels can be hung up and you can work around it.

with that compressor your buying. How much spraying time will you get ?
I cant imagine that much with the small tank it has.

I've got a clarke with 25L tank. Using HVLP guns is ok with it because it manages to keep up with the demand due to the low pressure needed.

I used venturi guns on my 125 that I sprayed. Will be using grav on the zxr, the trouble is finding one with a big enough pot.
