Do many of you remove the Torsion bar for the rear caliper? And if so, how have you stabilised the mounting bracket?

It's a real pain in the #%$ trying to manoeuvre my paddock stand under it so I want it gone.

Cheers

I looked at the caliper bracket of a zx7r, the bracket is bolted directly to the swingarm, only so much of the pad would touch the disk at the extremes of wheel adjustment but it would solve alot of problems

It would make a big differnce - the caliper arm effectively "fixes" the caliper and prevents it from rotating shocking when the brakes are applied so removing it is only poss if some other form of fixing is used eg - attaching to swing arm (as in picture). I have seen a mod which uses he origninal caliper and caliper carrier with a small alloy arm bolted to the carrier and picking up an extended bolt inserted through the RHS paddoack stand fixing. Making this work wouldl mean a bit of "home made" engineering with the swingarm off the bike etc etc. Not sure it is worth the hassle
