They'll give you maybe 1.5bhp top end, but give you instant throttle response/control which in turn will give you better drive out of corners, if you're not too throttle happy that is, otherwise you'll be on you're butt

However, they are a real pain in the arseee to get properly set up, I gave up, and I know many others that gave up too, besides, you need to be a seriously fast rider to get any benefit out of them

Added to the hassle of setting them up is the signifcnat investment in them over standard carbs - going rate for a decent set of road carbs (which can be modded for racing at limited cost) is around £30-40. Cost for flatslides is £350+. For most this cash would be better spent on suspension or brake upgrades

i went from a 444cc with 75hp to 80hp with open FCRS. But the drive out is now awesome - easy stick with a 75 hp sv out of a corner!!! the prob was i also put on a quarter turn throttle - then tried to relearn how to ride it on a street circut!!
once you get used them..... the really pay off. but agree with the cost issue - they were the last mod i bought - after 444cc and ohlins ( we can go out to 450 in NZ )
