Hi Drew - that looks perfect - I will use that idea when I go for the front fairing air intake - thanks

Drew- found this in a box of bits - looks like this goes at the side of the engine (LHS) supported on the upper fairing support with HT leads going under the frame beam. I havent seen this arrangment before but it looks a bit neater than where I was originally planning.

chagning the HT leads is straightforward. The HT caps scew off / screw on and the connection at the coil is the same but is held in place by a standard threaded "swage cap" - this might be a bit tight to unscrew but it will turn with a bit of encouragment.

thats exactly how i have mine Dave.
I bolt that bracket to the frame spar where the height adjusting bolt for the rear shock is.loads of space there, and hidden out of a crashes reach!
mine is a H frame tho, so im not sure if the L would have the same mounting point

I have had my coils under the tank panel - on top of the airbox -on all 3 race bikes for several years. They don't get wet, can't be damaged in an accident and no brackets are required. I used grommets on the bolts to reduce vibration.
Simply use bolts long enough to go through the airbox and bolt the coils down.

If anyone wants better pix, I'm happy to take some good shots tomorrow !!

Anyone had problems with water getting into the coil connections when they are mounted in the nose fairing? Thinking of moving mine somewhere else, not because of fitting ramair but because that mess of wires and coils on top of the engine pisses me off whenever you try to do anything.
