Circuit gearing guide?

Hi,
I've just acquired a ZXR for next year's racing season. No idea what gearing I'll need for the main UK tracks though. Clearly a lot comes down to style, power and how fast you are but it's good to have a basic setting to start with. Right now I think the bike has 15 / 46 on it and I'm wondering what I need to order. 14 front for sure and then maybe 43,44 & 45? What do others have in their sprocket collection?
Thanks a lot!

if its just a normal gearbox, not a sp one, then id go 14 and a 15. then 46/47/48 will cover most places mate. if its a sp box, then get a 16 front aswell.
where you planning on racing?

thanks for the info mate. I'm racing in Bemsee next year with an occasional appearance in Derby Pheonix F250 on my Aprilia Rs250.

Hi Owen. Hope you're keeping well.
What I use (courtesy of previous owner Rob Hollingsbee, who was a tad quicker than me!):
Brands Indy, Cadwell and Oulton: 14/45
Brands GP: 14/44
Snet: 15/46 or 47 - gear for the Revet depending on what the wind does on the day
Cheers
Gerhard
ps: since you started beating me at the end of the season, these might of course be all made up...

Thanks for that Gerhard.
I was only beating you in the last meeting as you were riding someone else's bike. Regardless of the reason, I was pleased to have you finish behind me for a change. Next year I expect we'll be battling it out in every race.

hi, here's what i used. they worked for me on a 75bhp zxr, and running near the front.
donington 14/45
oulton 14/45
mallory 14/46
snetterton 15/45
pembrey 14/47
cadwell 14/45
darley moor 14/45
silverstone (little circuit) 14/46
rockingham 14/47
thats all i can remember at the mo
if you want to know any other tracks, i will dig out my captains log and see if i've been there.
also i used to go up a tooth on the rear for wet and take 2 off everything front and rear suspension (except rear preload, never touched that).
hope this helps.
