Hi
Sorry me again, just wondered if there are different size head gaskets available as I can only seem to find one size, standard?

Cheers
Stuart

Yes, one size fits all iirc. Check the microfiches to be sure though :smt002

Hi

Thanks for that.

If I want to up compression I'm looking at skimming then?

Please excuse my ignorance over all this engine tuning stuff.

Cheers
Stuart

You can skim it to get a higher compression, but some just take out the base gasket and use silicone sealer instead.

Again many thanks Rob.

Some of your engine bits have come in handy, so double thank you.

I took out the base gasket on an engine and it was fine, another build with different crankcases and the valves would have touched the pistons, so check for clearance after base gasket removal.

Some tuners make different base gasket sizes to suit

There were SP gaskets that were thinner too, don't know if they're still made.

AFM,
They were the kit ones, 0.1mm compaed to 0.2mm STD.
