I've got them blanked off on my racebike, still having to tape the rad some days to keep temperatures up and it hasn't went bang yet

+1 i have the standard oil hose fitment, just cut off the metal 'hose' and fill solidly with weld job done.. bike ran cold all year, even on a hot day i had tape on the radiator.

To be on the safe side oil and filter changed mid season.

Hi

Meant to post this a while ago but have been busy.

After reading about this, I got a hole in my oil cooler whilst racing at Armoy, told you it was a while a go, so made a pipe out of the bits I had and looped it between the two openings.

Touch wood ran fine for rest of season.

So thanks to whoever bought this up as it may have meant an end to my race weekend if hadn't remembered this.

Cheers
Stuart

The price of one is 85€ + shipping but if you make a global order for several person i'm sure that the price would be less!! The easyest were to ship to one person who centralise the orders from the UK forum.

^^ +1

Similar sort of price or cheaper to get the standard pipes cut just after they do the 90 degree bend out the bottom of the engine and get them filled with weld,

I'll edit this post to include a picture of mine tonight :) ran them all year.

I assume you just blocked off the end of each pipe ? that's to say you've not made a little bypass.

There is NO need for a bypass....................there is a bypass in the engine and a look at the oil flow chart/diagram shows it

Yeah, just blocked the pipes, the zx 400 has the same engine and was built without an oil cooler but the sump doesn't fit without shortening the oil pickup :(
