in the next few weeks i'll be looking at up jetting my carbs to try allow me to run open bell mouths. would any one be able to lend me a variety of jet sizes until i find the ones that work best, whereupon i'll either buy my own or buys yours at that size, and return the others. Obviously i'll be happy to send out a deposit first. I just can't afford to visit a dyno centre, but i'm quite happy setting up my fuelling by trial and improvement, going off feel. and if some one has a set of adjustable needles, so much the better, else i'm down to using washers

Are you running open or closed air correctors?

are these the air jets type things inside the front of the carbs? i'm still running stock down pipes, so i'm hoping only to have to go up one or two mj sizes, and maybe lift the needle slightly.

If you look at the carbs from the inlet side the air corrector is the brass tube just below the air intake.

that's what i thought. What effect does the open/closing of this have on the af ratio, and how does closing it benefit things?
