Just done an oil change nd plug change, but i don't think i've done anything wrong there.
Basically it usually ticks over fine but occasionally when pulling up to lights it dies, or when i rev it in neutral it cuts out as opposed to returning to tick over, not all the time just enough to be a hassle. I did also notice than when i put the bike on its stand petrol spewed out from the left hand carb down the side of the frame. Took tank off nd tightened up a few bolts and it doesn't do that anymore, but it still cuts out occasionally.
Another problem which may or may not be related....if i thrash the bike in a straight line when its fully warm the temp guage drops quite dramatically......

sounds like a slightly rich idle mix, the opposite of the "revs hanging at 2k before settling to idle" problem

whats your idle set to ? it should be 1200-1500

fuel shouldnt piss out of the carbs at all.. float heights ? could be, would explain the rich idle mix too ..

temp gauge dropping at speed is normal.. if its dropping off the bottom of the scale check there is actually a thermostat fitted. Sometimes people remove them to hide over heating problems.

It does that sometimes 2!! lol The tick over is about 1400 when fully warm, though i tend to put it higher in cold weather so i don't have to wait as long for it too warm up before i can leave the house.
. But it can tick over around 1000 without dying sometimes

you have an air leak then ..

new inlet rubbers or clean them up and seal both the rubber to the head, and the carb to the rubber with some decent high temp silicon.

Was gonna say exactly the same thing. Air leaks are very very common on these bikes and are a pain in the butt. Kawasaki couldn't of made a much worser design in inlet carb holders. I'm using the latest carb holders on my L2 which work very very well, but still leak a little air. I tend to use gasket silicone sealer, works a treat! Careful not to get it on your hands though, smells very vinegary. Mmmmmm.... Chips.
