ive got a l3 with scorpion endcan standard downpipes and a k&n fillter.
when the revs get high (10000ish) it starts to stutter like its going on to reserves,
it happens at most speeds but more at 100+.
i dont know if the jets in the carbs have been changed.
any help would be great

cutting in/out at sustained high rev's could be fuel starvation.. check your filters are clear and that the float heights arent too low.
with a KnN and a race can, it would probably benefit from bigger main jets too.

If you havent used it much and its been standing some time, then it could be gummed fuel. As Zimm says, check the the fuel filter
And of course, run some redex through and that should sort it
