ok so i've only used the bike for 2 days and both of those days its failed to start, came out of work tonight and all it did was click the starter relay like it was on speed.put the jump leads on it off the bus and it fired straight away.

got it home, checked battery voltage 11.6v tried to start it, no problem.fired it up voltage went up to 12.3v turned the lights on and it went down to 11.4v revved the engine and it went up to 11.7v turned off the lights and its back upto 12.3v

now do you think this is the battery or the charging system??

hold it at 5k rpm, should get between 13.7 and 14.7 volts.

my guess is its the battery mate ..

check the acid levels and if low nick some acid out of another battery to top it up with.

borrowed a battery off scott last night, put it on this morning fired it up and its showing 14.3v but as soon as i turn the lights on the voltage starts dropping and doesn't rise unless i turn the lights back off.methinks somethings up with the charging system, could it be the regulator/rec ??
