Hot starting problem to the extreme!

My hot starting problem has now gone to the extreme.
Say if i start it up and i let of the choke to early/much so it stalls, just from those 30 secs of running will be enough to cause it not to start again without bump starting it (good job my driveway is on a slope :p), but even then it take a bit to get it going.
It will spin over a few times, then act like the battery is flat turning over very slowely and eventually not atall.
Can anyone think of why it must do this after such a short time?
Everything else is fine (apart from my downpipes :smt013 ), i can't see why it would do this.

Might be worth doing a compression test.

does it turn over really quickly like theres a lack of compression?

Nope, turns over normally.
It's literally a few turns and then it struggles to any more, asif the battery was flat.
Once running its fine, bogs down a little under 4k, but then i do have a hole in my pipes so i'm assuming that is causing that.
Do you think i could have rediculously high compression?

its unlikely youve got rediculously high compression. sounds more like a weak spark.

I could understand how a weak spart would stop it from starting, and the fact that the hold in my pipes would make it run lean so therefore more likely to foul the plugs. But i can't understand why it doesn't turn over (well)

sounds like the battery's shagged!

Battery is only a couple of months old
Will check the voltage and acid levels when i get chance, just strange how it works perfect when cold or once running.

have you had your engine casings off?
I know when mine had been off the left hand one that has the intermediate gear for the starter was on too tight meaning it would get too hot, expand and stop the starter from turning... worth a check, either that or take out and re-set your camchain tensioner, could have over tightened the camchain somehow.
Cheers

hi, know this is an old post but wondered if you resolved the issue? i have exactly the same problem, and the engine casing gets really hot...

turns out mine had a magnet break off the housing in the starter motor!
