Starting after a crash

got knocked off, and bike has been sat for 9 months !
that said, the day of teh accident it still wouldn't turn over - checked engine kill switch wasnt engaged - all the lights turned on fine, but nothing from starer switch (not eve a tick or anything)
can anyone tell me the steps i need to go through to get it firing again / likely issues from front end impact
i know on some bikes there is a tip / tilt sensor that brakes the connection in the event of a crash - but have never heard of this on a zxr 400
its the h model too, so 1989
