Oil pipe routing

Hey folks, having an issue with the oil pipes. If I set them one way then they touch the pressure sensor.

If I lay them the other they look odd. Both times I have the short pipe going to the lhs of the cooler as you were sitting on the bike. Any ideas what's up with them, as they fitted before they came off.

It someone has a photo of how they are meant to go that would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Is that how they come out of the sump as well banner?

Because when I do that they are about 3/4 inches gap between them and I seem to remember the pipes running parallel

That would be a great help. Can't believe I'm having such trouble with such a simple thing but if I put the pipes in one way they touch the pressure sensor and the other way there's a massive gap between them and the oil cooler doesn't line up with the radiator.

As many pics as possible would be a big help.

Thanks

Thanks banner that would be a big help.

Here is how they come from the radiator, photo is LHS looking towards the front of the bike:

THe pipe from the LHS of the oil cooler sits above the other pipe:

The pipe from the LHS of the oil cooler goes to the RHS of the bike like this:

There is only a narrow gap between the pipe and the oil pressure sensor:

Thanks banner. Then I most likely have a bent pipe as when routed this way the short oil pipe touches the sensor.

I thought maybe I hadn't put the sensor in all the way but it's a tapered thread and I've torqued it too the right amount.

Very odd, just gonna try to get another pipe and go from there. Thanks for the help banner

Just to conclude this chapter in my on going saga, that is restoring a Zxr 400 that was dragged from the bottom of a river, my oil pipes were in fact bent.

Got some replacements from a forum member.

Now onto the next problem

there is always another problem with these little bikes :D

im currently rebuilding a 1989 fzr 250 r exup...19,000rpm redline anyone?

you mean i cant tempt you with the 3000 mile service interval for the valve clearances? on a rocker over bucket engine with a central camchain that means removing all the cam covers/cams just to change a shim...anyone?
