:smt006 Hello!
I have just sold my older L reg ZXR400 & bought a 2003 model, it's fabulous, but I can't understand why my new bike has got 2 big holes in the hugger. :smt017 They appear to render the hugger useless & let all the wet & crap through onto my undertray/suspension etc. Can anyone explain why they did this? Is there a reason? Think I'll just buy a replacement one without the holes, unless anyone knows of any good reason not to?!

teh holes are for weight reduction... :smt002

honestly i don have teh foggiest...
but...
sounds like a good excuse to fit a carbon fiber one?
is anybody making carbon fiber ZXR parts? if not, and if there is enough interest, (say for 20 huggers?) i could make em . . .

i think the holes in the hugger were for when you are off roading so the mud doesn't clog up under the hugger.

The holes are there to create downforce on your rear wheel init :smt003

Skidmarx have no 400 huggers, will check the bike jumble at BMF first anyway me thinks.
As I don't intent to go off-roading (not intentionally anyway!) I will just replace it then.
Cheers guys

Use a fibre glass repair kit :smt115 Kawasaki did this so you had to buy more parts when they started rusting :smt007

When it rains put you waterproofs on but leave the wheelies indoors :smt003

Sorry

I've still not got a new hugger - none on the bike jumble at BMF and no one who was there made after market ones for the 400, bought some racer tape and have stuck it over the holes but I want a new one :smt012

Has anyone got one for sale or know where I can get one please?

Might be worth seeing if Pyrimd Plastics do one, not sure if they do one. Can't be arsed to look. :P
