Hi looking for help again,met up with some lads today for the first time to go for a good spin and get to the place we were meeting at and everyone sets of except me,the bike just died,i had this problem before when trying to start the bike in the garden and found it to be a loose connection around the starter solenoid ,as i wiggled it everything came back on and the bike started,recently the fuse in the solenoid had melted along with the red plastic connector that goes around the 30amp fuse so the wires going into that were not connecting properly,can it get the red connector handy enough or do i have to buy whole new solenoid.

ok i'll have a look now,i'm at my wits end with this bike now its doing my head in.

got in touch with cradleys today who said the red connector cannot be got anymore,what can i do now as mine is melted.

i dont think the connector part you are on about, if im right comes with the starter solenoid its part of the loom ye?so unless you can find someone with a loom that you could cut the connector off and join the wires back up i think your gona have trouble sourcing one,unless you can find a mechanic/electrition that has something that can fit.

Right lads a bit more help needed if you can understand what i'm trying to get across your amazing. As first post i said that i had trouble with solinoid and wires going to it and i've just inspected it and found that it is the red/yellow wire that seems to be the problem,it sometimes kills everything on the bike no light nothing not even let me start the bike unless you wiggle it,so to me that would suggest that the spade connector is not catching right so i cut back the wire and fitted a new spade connector but still had the problem,i also found the wire to be brittle.I have checked the manual and as far as i can make out this red/yellow wire is going to the fuse box somewhere is it possible to get a bit of this wire and refit it as i feel its the wire itself.

ye i would of thought so as the wire only goes from connector on starter soleniod to connector on fuse box, just make sure you trace the right wire though.if your handy with a multimeter maybe do a continuity test over the wire and wiggle it it various places that should you tell you if its broken or not or just do a voltage check and see if the voltage changes.
i had a problem on my bike were all the wires in the connector for fuse box were corroded so had to clean them all out so might be worth checking all the wiring connectors for corrosion and the fuses themselves as well.

Cheers thanks,if they do need cleaning how do i go about cleaning them and were would i get this red/yellow cable from?is it standard

the colour isnt so important thats just so you can identify what goes where,just make sure the thickness is the same well atleast no thinner can be a bit thicker thats no problem, because it needs to be able to cope with the current going through it and a thinner wire might just burn out.yes its just standard copper wire can get it from lots of places.i have a friend that works with electronics and he got me some special electrical cleaner but wd40 or similar would do the trick, if they are a bit corroded i used a tuff paint brush to push in and out the terminals to clean the corrosion off.even if they arent corroded i would give them a little spray with wd40 as this can help keep moisture out for the future.

Why would my 30amp fuse keep melting its not blowing just the plastic around it is melting,the starter relay it goes into is getting very very hot should this be?

Anything close to 30amps through a wire will get hot, especially if the wiring is old, so beef it up if you can. You can buy contact cleaner to help with the corrosion, and as extonyg said, a bit of wd40 keeps water out in the future, ive heard you can use vaseline aswell.

when you say beef it up do you mean thicker wire,sorry i haven't a clue i don't even know what to ask for.
