zxr400 l3 HELP rev counter playing up

hi guys and girls my bike over on his side in the garage now the bike idles 2000 was 1000 and if i put the choke on runs 8000 - 9000 little hard to start but the bike is not ticking over fast and when i turn the key to on the rev niddle jumps little bit just seem to be the rev counter any help guys cheers mike

Quite a few people have had this problem, usually its the battery, even though it seems ok. Give the earths a once over and check the connection to the coils is clean.
do a search of the forum and theres a few topics of people with this problem
