fuel pump and indicators

Hi there,
recently riding my zxr, all of a sudden it cuts out. i found the fault to be a fuel problem and that the fuel pump was not pumping fuel into the carbs. however once powering it straight from the battery it seemed to work fine. any cause of this?
the bike runs fine now but is not reliable as it could stop again at any time. any kind of solution to this without replacing the fuel pump?
also.
indicators fail to light either left or right when toggle is turned. could this be due to a faulty connections or more to do with the indicator relay?
