Just been reading through RedexRobs workshop and thinking bout adding irridium lights to the bike ovr the weekend.
has anybody tried to do this themselves already and if so...does anybody have a serial/model number for a particular bulb or are they all pretty much one-size-fits-all?
Rob says he hasn't a clue so....

Hey I had to do this just for the normal light bulbs. I used H4 12v 60/55w bulbs from Halfords which were about £5 (the right 1s were £15 each for the light). They were not the irridium ones but still had to remove the bottom tags and make a knotch in the side. All i used was a pair of cutters to make a groove/dent line on the tags and then started to bend them back and forth to break them off. As for the little knotch I used the cutter and cut a kinda 'U' shape where it needed to be. They have been working fine and passed my MOT. Its quite easy to do but dont touch the glass on the bulb if you do clean it with some Meths and try not to shake it to much as i found out the filament doesnt really like it lol!
