speedo oddities

right then, mine being an import only had kph clocks fitted.

i bough some mph (with kph being secondary scale) clocks. these clocks came with out the little bit that converts the speedo cable movement to the clock itself. beacsue of this i fitted my item from my kph clocks.

now it gets odd, the speedo now reads almost perfectly mph wise but fomr some reason the trip meter and odometer readings are going up in kph amounts, ie, 2.2 on the clocks is only really 1.4ish miles.

im assuming this isnt right?

it can sometimes be that way. I am not familiar with all the different clock styles out there but on the aprilia rs's the speedo was mainly in mph but odo and trip meter where KM, just the way it was.
Mine go up in miles and have an mph scale as the main bit.

I know the bit you mean, its the drum looking thing, the internal workings of which remain a mystery to me. How does the speedo cable rotation transmit through to the counting dials on the zxr clocks (not had one apart), does it go through the bit you've swapped?

it goes through the bit i swapped yeah, they are all the same though apparently.

im not fussed tbh, the speedo reads correctly in mph which is the main scale so its all good.

just abit odd.....my mate had to aprilia rs125 and a rs250 and he said his was the same.

nevermind.

cheers
